passive, he doesn't like conflicts and tries to stay out of it, but as he does so, he looks a bit of a coward, settling inside of his captain's shadow. hayden is talented, however, whether it be his hands or mouth - he's good at wriggling out of situations with a quick wit, and can get things done, which is effective and handy on a first mate. one of his major pastimes are reading, which he tries to do so - but under his schedule of training his pokemon, seeing to it that things actually get done onboard, and doing most of the work himself, he can't get a lot of literature-indulging done, which he's not happy about. he bites his tongue at complaints and knows when to draw a line. he's coolheaded and patient, almost never raising his voice unless he truly needs to get something across.
hayden's a little embarrassed of sharing the topic of love, because he doesn't know much about it. all the books he's read of love stories are always so farfetched and ludicrous, he can't decide if he wants it or not. he's naive when it comes to such things, and oblivious when it comes to situations. to some, he's like a brother - to some, he's a thorn in their side, aching and never seeming to come out until it's squeezed with a tweezer.
