People watching, yes that was what she called it. What it really was? Stalking out prey for her next battle and or stealing all the coin they had in their pockets. The woman smirked puffing off the last of her cigarette before flicking it on the ground and moving on through the crowd. No one looked all that interesting today, not prey worthy in her eyes. Scoffing Shae weaved her way through groups of people before finding a nice bench to sit and watch from. The day was rather nice, and the busy streets made her forgettable, which was nice. The was nothing good about guards knowing your a pirate and trailing you, she was dress rather ladylike today though. Wearing a thin black dress that hugged her features nicely, her shoulders draped in a green silk scarf. Dress up did make it easier to catch someone's eye, being a girl really did make theft simple.
Pulling her wavy hair over one shoulder, Shae put on her best pretty girl face Shae did her best not to look her dominant self. It was better for them to think she was frail and weak, if they didn't expect an attack then she would over power them easily. Pulling a fan out of her purse Shae began to fan herself batting her eyes slightly hoping to catch someone's attention. She was closer to the rich side of the market and didn't expect to find anyone with empty pockets around here. No, a nice fat aristocrat was what she was expecting to find but when something more pretty than that turned a corner into her line of sight Shae adjusted herself. This was a interesting change of scenery, he didn't look like he belonged her, how interesting.

Needless to say, Monsieur Baudelaire could also be found filching pockets and sneaking kisses. At first, he'd been a little clumsy due to his uneasiness with the earth, for after all, his place was with the air. However, soon enough, he quickly mastered the art of pick-pocketing. Yes, there was no fancy lady who was safe from the Remy Baudelaire! As he'd charm one lady's gold out of her pocket with the slightest of whispers, he'd snake an arm around a delicate waist and pull out a coin or two, maybe even an earring. By now, he had made a good pickings with countless coins, five earrings, and even three necklaces, all which he could sell for a pretty penny in return. It was a job well done if he could say so himself.
Still, there was a particular lady that caught his eye during his miniature conquest of women's earrings. Sure enough, she was alone on a bench with a form-fitting black dress which accentuated her curves rather nicely and Remy had to admit that this particular lady did have one heck of a rather appealing frame. Still, something was off about her gaze. While she was merely batting her thick eyelashes with a fan in her delicate hand, the captain couldn't help but feel there was something strangely off about her countenance ...something unsettling and well ...Remy couldn't help but be drawn to that.
Their gazes had suddenly met briefly, but it was only the brief moment he needed to swipe the darkest, reddest rose he could find. He ignored the cuts that welled with his own blood as he made his way to the peculiar yet beautiful lady and he gave a small bow. Well, perhaps, she'd have a pretty coin or two he could take, right?
"Excuse me, miss, but I think this belongs to you ..." He offered a small smile before offering the rose adorned with pricks of his blood. "Lovely day outside, wouldn't you agree?"

Shae watched the man until he disappeared for a moment, oh what could he be up to? But back he came rose it hand the man bowed to her, oh what a charmer indeed. She wondered if he really was an aristocrat, something about him seemed off. Batting her eyelashes Shae accepted the rose, careful not to prick her finger. "Oh why thank you, sir." The woman put on her best polite lady voice, being raised by a snobby aristocrat mother did have its perks. She usually played her role very well.
"Oh yes, it is such a lovely day. So much lovelier now that such a hansom man has thought of me," oh how this role almost made Shae disgust herself. She was happy she didn't get stuck in this role her whole life, she smelled the rose before carefully placing it in her lap. Fanning her face again she smiled at the man sweetly, "what brings you to the market today?" Small talk was never something she enjoyed but it was an unfortunate part of her role. Shae wondered how much coin she could lift off this man, he did look a tad out of place but nothing about him said poor.

"It is my humble pleasure, Mademoiselle." Remy offered a polite sort of smile, but on the inside, he was working to get a proper read on her. This woman ...she was different, Remy could tell. What was it that was off about her? She played the part just fine and Remy was almost convinced; maybe it was just his paranoia acting up, but heck, he was going to enjoy this.
Remy could only chuckle at the compliment. "Tell me something I don't know, but I digress!" He was a rather handsome man, wasn't he? Yes, yes, he was more than handsome, of course, he was! Still, he supposed he should thank the woman for acknowledging what was only common sense. "Thank you for that. I could say the same to you, but you're not a man obviously ...or so I hope," he teased playfully. Witty banter was always much more fun than casual small talk after all and, besides, at least this way, he would get something of a reply that would show if she really was an aristocrat or not.
Nevertheless, in a bout of mock modesty, Remy waved the thought away. "Oh, me? I'm just another man trying to earn a decent living in these hard times, Mademoiselle. I'm nothing more than that," he smiled. Well ...that wasn't a complete lie, was it? There were bits of truth in there! After all, how could he, a complete gentleman, lie to such a beautiful lady? That was unheard of! Almost ghastly!
Howver, he couldn't help but ask her the same question in return. Only, of course, he phrased his a little more differently. "And what is a beautiful belle such as yourself doing all by lonesome self without an escort?"

Smiling sweetly the woman continued to fan herself listening to the man speak confidently about himself. When his witty comment about hoping she was indeed a woman came to her ears Shae's face suddenly filled with anger. How dare he insult her in such away, teasing or not it was obvious that she was no man. Forgetting about her role the woman narrowed her eyes at the man, "who do you think you are saying such a thing like that to me?" She didn't know if the man would think this something that an aristocrat woman would say or not, to be honest at the moment she really did care. Turning from innocent rich woman into something like an angered snake the woman snapped her fan shut.
She forget to pay attention to the small talk, her pride told her to beat this man senseless. If it were not for all the people around them she probably would have pounced on the man and began to claw his eyes out. She took a breath trying to calm herself and listen to the words that the man spoke, "I am a grown woman, I can wander where I please." Though Shae knew too well that if this man knew enough her cover was either blown or he thought her to be a complete floozy. She was still rather mad at the man and the thought of getting her arcanine to tears his throat out sounded like a very good idea to her at the moment. "But of course I am not completely alone..." The woman opened her bag and pulled out a pokeball, red light burst from it her large canine pokemon appeared beside her. The fire type snarled at the man before sitting upright as if he were a solider standing at attention.
"I am sure Rafe here is suitable enough of a escort," the woman ran her fingers through the pokemon's fluffy mane.

Hook, line, and sinker. My, my, this 'lady' certainly had a temper, didn't she? Remy allowed himself to slip a smirk, but he quickly erased the expression off his countenance to continue his innocent ploy even if the 'lady' before him had revealed herself for what she truly was. "Dear me! How rude I must've been. Pardon my manners, my fault completely, but ..." He deliberately paused and the familiar grin tugged at the corner of his lips. "I'm Remy Baudelaire. What'd you expect?"However, the grin faded from his visage when the giant Arcanine was released from its ball. The pokemon was certainly upper leveled and, from the captain's brief study, it was plain to see that the fire pokemon would be a formidable opponent and he was not to take her lightly. "Ah, a battle. Well ..." Remy let his voice trail off a bit playfully, still toying with the lady's sudden spike of fury, "Who am I to deny a beautiful lady, mm?" Reaching into his pocket, he pulled a pokeball out and pressed his lips to the surface for good luck. "It's showtime, Jarvis." And the emperor penguin pokemon stepped forward with a small grunt. "Brine and then Scald."Immediately, the Empoleon set to work. After firing a torrent of heavy water towards the Arcanine in the form of brine, the penguin shifted to the left and released a stream of scalding hot water towards the fire pokemon in vain hopes of a burn. That was funny. Could fire pokemon even get burned? JARVIS THE EMPOLEON level 48 • torrent • male brine, swords dance, bubble beam, fury attack flash cannon, scald

Remy Baudelaire... Why did that name sound so familiar, the woman snarled, not a very lady like expression she knew that but today didn't seem to be a day for acting. She didn't gratify the man with a response she only waved her hand as if using a hand signal with her canine. Rafe took off as soon as the woman's arm dropped back to her side, leaving his masters side before the water type could shoot its brine and charging at the penguine with extreme speed. Unfortunately the fire type was hit in the face with scalding hot water, it hurt but didn't burn, it was only the water alone that caused him so much pain.
"What is it with all you men and having water pokemon," Shae grumbled not expecting the man to understand what she was talking about. She distinctly remembered battling a man earlier than week who was just as pretty, hopefully this battle would go better than that one. Shae wrinkled her nose at the thought of another loss under her belt, a man so pretty she should have known, was this man a captain too? "Baudelaire?" Shae spoke, a smirk pulling at her lips. Yes the name indeed was familiar and she could have possible put two and two together. "Captain Baudelaire." She snickered to herself, oh what luck she was having bumping into all these well behaved boys.

Remy couldn't help but be somewhat drawn to that snarl. He'd always admired mean-spirited wenches because, well, they always were damn sexy. Occupied with his thoughts, he failed to issue a command to dodge the near impossible extreme speed, and while Jarvis was briefly dazed, he immediately retaliated with brine, as the familiar crash of heavy water was carefully aimed toward the fire pokemon once more. "Mm? Have I already driven you to madness as to being conversing with yourself? I'm right here, y'know. I'm told I make great conversation," Remy shrugged absent-mindedly. Despite his snark, he was being wary of the Arcanine and especially the extreme speed, but he possessed the type advantage undoubtedly. "Jarvis, let's go for another Scald!"And the penguin set to work. Would the pokemon burn this time? It was no matter to either Remy or Jarvis; the two of them would be lucky to score even a hit against the lightning fast pokemon. It was clear that the lady had raised her pokemon well. The Empoleon gave a low cry before it sent the all too familiar stream of boiling water towards the Arcanine and returned dutifully to his master's side. Remy only took a mock bow. "The one and only. And you?" He was truly curious now. Who was this lady? She looked awfully familiar to a certain lady captain he had seen before. "I'd like to presume you're not actually a lady of high social standing at all as you presumed the same of me." The thick brine hit Rafe in the face causing the canine to shake his head to rid himself of the water. Growling the fire pokemon didn't wait for a command, charging at the water type with extreme speed again. He had dodged the scalding water this time but he wouldn't take much more of the water attacks.
Shae frowned readying another pokeball, she knew that he proud canine would fall soon but she wouldn't let that bother her. She was sure to build a team that could take care of a few pesky water pokemon. "Sadly most say that I was driven crazy many years ago," the woman mused thoughtfully. "I suppose you won't be able to take the credit for that one." She waved her hand as if to dismiss the man's presumptions of her social stature, even if she was a pirate, in her own mind Shae would always be a lady of the aristocracy. Raised proper, rich blood and all. "Oh you would love to know my identity wouldn't you," Shae couldn't help but smirk at the thought. "Though I don't keep my feet on the ground very often anymore I feel just as at home with these snobs as I would I the deck of my ship." She didn't care if her hints gave away who she was but she wasn't going to tell the man right upfront. If he was smart enough he would figure it out, how many pirates came from high class families? Not many and Shae knew that well.

Once more, the Empoleon was hit with the blunt of the attack and he was left dazed, but he quickly snapped out of his brief daze and he returned the favor with brine and scald. There was the familiar burst of heavy water and then, the repetition of boiling water shot towards the hapless fire pokemon. It wouldn't be long now. "Good work, Jarvis!" Remy beamed. So far, so good! His smile grew arrogant. "I'll take the credit for something else." He wasn't quite sure what he'd take the credit for yet, but he'd think of something. "After all," he winked, "there's a first for everything."
Who was this lady? Remy only knew of two lady captains so that narrowed it down. But a hint was suddenly given away and in that instant, he figured it out. "Miss Shae Merrick, was it?" Ah, the ex-aristocrat. He'd heard some fearsome tales about the female, but it was in his nature to simply push people's buttons. "I still think a ship's no place for a woman. ...Even a woman as lovely as you," he grinned.
