hayden's super friendly and cordial to everyone, unless they show hostility or rudeness, of course. he loves sharing things - he's a very open guy. he's the sort of a friend who, if you get drunk and pass out, will be the one to lug you all over to your couch or bed and make sure you don't throw up onto yourself ( because you'd die of asphyxiation on your own vomit and he doesn't want to be charged with murder, okay, 8C, ) and not take the credit. he adores meeting new pokemon and people alike, and doesn't judge them on what they are, who they are, etc. he can be strict, though, but he thinks it's all for the benefit, so ... just take it as you will. c: to him, friendships are eternal and everlasting, even though they might not be physically right next to each other. an optimist and a cheerful individual, he's nice to be around.

at the moment, ( and forever, i'm supposing, ) hayden is with the crew of captain bau-something-hurp-durp, on the ship of the hour. naturally, everyone else on other crews would be his opponent; but he's rational and full of reason, and won't jump the closest enemy unless they do hold a potential threat at him or his crew. even enemies have a chance to become some sort of an acquaintance, which is good, right? he's known to never attack the throat at the first meet - he'll be cautious and sharp, sending callous glances, but won't attack unless his captain sends him to or he deems it necessary.

Okay seeing as Hayden is the first mate he will have to at least know Sera, I could see them either getting along really well or Sera finding him completely annoying and wanting to ladle him in the head because he it too nice and she thinks it is stupid. She get annoyed with everyone, maybe she would complain to him about the captain being annoying. OR if Hayden makes some request or suggestions about what she cooks she could freak right out about it, "what you don't like what I cook for you!" Kinda thing. which could result in a really awkward moment for Hayden where he is all like "ehhh what did I do" or something. Blech, I don't know. /horrible plotter.

Alright I should get Shae in here too, seeing as she is the captain of a rival ship they probably shouldn't get along. The are pretty much the exact opposite of each other too so there would be lots of reason to dislike and even hate each other.
